I had the pleasure of growing up in the small and charming village of Brooklin Ontario, where I was first introduced to the world of historical décor. Growing up in a century home that my parents lovingly filled with antiques and vintage-inspired pieces, I understood what it meant to live in a home full of character. I was also fortunate to learn the art of throwing a good party from a young age, as our home was (and still is) the hub of our large family’s many celebrations.

However, it wasn’t until friends and family were coming to me seeking my décor and event advice, that I realized this passion-hobby should be my next career. So after almost five years in the public relations field, I decided I needed to follow my heart and pursue a lifelong dream of a career in home and wedding decor.

Now, almost two years later, I find myself a full-time employee of Penney & Co. (a decorator/stylist I idolized during his days with House & Home Magazine and Sarah Richardson!). Each day at the Penney & Co. store is different, helping customers make confident decisions with their furniture and accessory selections, writing for the store’s blog, helping with events and assisting with décor consultations and projects.

What I know for sure—the décor of your home and wedding should reflect your unique personality and aesthetic, and fill you with joy.
