I had the honour of sitting on the Mayor of Whitby's Annual Fundraising Gala Committee. I was in charge of the event decor; to fit the event theme of "A Night Out On The Town." We wanted the evening to be reminiscent of walking through a lively street festival. Busker style entertainment, cocktail seating, artists painting, interactive food stations, and street scape decor. It was important the evening felt more casual than a typical formal, seated gala. All funds raised went to Durham Hospice, as well as the downtown Whitby revitalization.

With Mother Nature against us, I was thrilled we were able to make the bride's wishes come true with a lakefront gazebo ceremony. Simplicity was key here, as not to compete with the natural scenery. White tulle and Baby's Breath added romance, and the bride's colour of choice--coral--was brought in through subtle flowers. With a brewery as the backdrop for the cocktail reception, a rustic-chic feel was created through birch wood, candles and soft lighting.

This bedroom was designed and styled for a 19-year old dance teacher who requested the bold mix of orange and pink. Her personality shines throughout the room, from her ballet barre and pointe shoes, to her gorgeous vintage teacup collection.
Pat and Kelly were looking for a wedding that suited their laid-back, easy-going personality, and a "Beautiful Backyard Bash" fit the bill. With a gorgeous white tent as the backdrop, simple Baby's Breath centre pieces and burlap accents completed the relaxed atmosphere.

This beautiful home is in the Coach House of a century house, so it was important to me to emphasize the historic character of the space. I love the mix of new and vintage in the master bedroom—the fresh bedding and upholstered headboard are balanced by the charm of a great vintage trunk and antique dresser.
I worked with Brittany and Kyle to create a vintage-inspired décor scheme, using soft mint as an accent.
