Back Deck Styling
Sunshine, cleaning and decor styling. That about sums up my perfect day. So getting outside and setting up my parent's back deck this weekend, was a task right up my alley. We use this area of the backyard for a variety of things, so I decided to break it up into zones. There's the living room lounge in front of the fireplace, an al fresco dining area and a bar cart for entertaining. We also needed to leave room for access to the hot tub, and storage was key for blankets to keep warm for those night caps.
Keeping with my parent's country Canadiana theme, I added to the existing outdoor furniture by bringing two wicker chairs from the kitchen that weren't being utilized. I also found a tray that I re-purposed as a bar cart, and of course, brought out some vintage finds (tin storage bin, green bottle) to add some character. I treated this space the same way I would with an indoor room--It's amazing what a few accessories and styling tricks will do to complete a space, whether that's your living room or your deck.
Check out where we will be spending many a-Summer night below!
And here I am feeling very accomplished, and sweaty, after the season's first full day outside (props to my Papio for his hard work painting and cleaning!).
